Current Weather at the Observatory

On the current weather page, the high and low lines indicate the daily high and low values. The current weather page is not really live, but the displays will be automatically updated once a minute. See the IE workaround if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser. The 7 day, 30 day, 3 month and 12 month weather pages will be up to date but will not dynamically change.

The weather is broken into multiple pages with database info also available, see below. You will find both the current weather conditions as well as a graphical history of the weather for the past seven days, the past 30 days, the past 3 and 12 months by using the buttons below.

New Database Access: The SDO weather station keeps a database of all weather recorded. To look at the detailed weather data for the last 24 hour period, click Last 24. For a current monthly summary, click This Month, and for the summary of last month, click Last Month. If you are interested in longer term data, click This Year, for the present year and click Last Year for the previous year summaries.

Background Radiation Added: A new feature that has been added to the weather part of this site, is the daily report of background radiation. This report was prompted by the recent (March 2011) 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami which damaged four nuclear reactors in Japan. Since there has been no significant increase in the U.S. over several months, we have changed to a weekly to monthly format. Click on the "Current Radiation" button above.

IE workaround: If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser click here for automatic update fix.
