The Phases of our Moon
As the moon goes around the Earth, the light from the sun shows differently on the moon which causes the phases. Below the main phases of our moon can be seen. Right after the "new moon", we start the waxing phases until we get to a "full moon". From the full moon until the next new moon, we go through the "waning" phases. Whenever the moon is lit less than half, it is considered a Cresent phase. Whenever it is lit greater than half, it is considered a Gibbbous phase.
